The mission of the MVEPC is twofold. First, to provide opportunities for education and learning for its Members and the general public so as to promote proper estate planning methods and to provide confidence and guidance in the estate planning process. Second, to bring together and foster collaboration and discussion among estate planning professionals from the six different estate planning disciplines, namely: accounting, financial planning, insurance, law, planned giving, and trust services.

What We Do

Monthly meetings of the members are held the second Tuesday of each month from September through May (no meetings are held in the months of June, July, and August). The meeting starts at 7:30 am and concludes at 8:45 am. The first 15 minutes are reserved for council business. The final hour is devoted to a presentation on an estate planning related topic. All meetings are held in room 248 of the College of Southern Idaho Student Union Building. This year we plan to organize and host a community estate planning education event to be held in April as part of the National Estate Planning Awareness Week. The National Estate Planning Awareness Week was adopted by the US Legislature in 2008 to help the public understand what estate planning is and why it is a vital component of financial wellness.  This event is a one-night introductory estate planning seminar, lasting approximately two hours, open and free of charge to the public. Not only will this event educate the public about the need for estate planning by a qualified team of estate planning professionals, it will also highlight the existence of the council.
